I chose the title real bosses carry crosses some time ago when I was reading Luke 9:23. I asked Christ what it meant for me to pick up my cross daily to follow Him. That journey started a lot of years ago but so far here’s what He taught me it meant. It means I’m saying yes to the call of the Most High. Yes, I will go through the fire. Yes, I will wait patiently for His promises to manifest. Yes, I will decide every day of my life, for the rest of my life to follow Him no matter what it looks like in the world. And yes, I will never go back to where He has brought me from no matter what. It means yes, I will stand right back up every time I am knocked down. Yes, I will grow in Christ. Yes, I will allow His will to be done in my life. Yes, I will no longer live for me but for Christ.
Week after Week people answer the call of Christ for their life. I wonder how many are really understanding what they are saying yes to. “I will leave it all for you” is the interpretation of the Most High, what’s yours? Is it yes, I will do what you lead me to do? Yes, I want Your will for my life more than the ideas and desires I have for it myself? People everywhere come to the altar accept Christ but without understanding what it means. He said that we must leave everything for Him. He is our reward and how sweet a reward He is. Luke 14:33 explains that we must give up everything of ours to follow Christ. I made this decision like many others without knowing what it really meant. I’m proud to say that today I still say yes. I have been through some things and while its not pretty it is worth it. It is the best choice I have made in my life.
Society often teaches us much that is in opposition to the word of the Most High and we freely go with its flow. Real Bosses is about picking up our cross daily and following Christ the realist boss ever. He gave His life that we may live. He allowed His bloodshed for our healing. His death and resurrection redeemed us, restored us and saved us. How many people do you know that would do what Christ did for you? Only Him. Picking up our cross is not easy. It is a challenge but the best challenge we will ever accept. Christ loves us and cares about the inside of us. He wants us to be tried by the fire, so we come out pure to spend eternity with Him. Too many times we run as soon as the heat is turned up. I don’t know where you are in your walk with Him today, but I encourage you stay in it. The journey is great, and the reward is greater.
